North Carolina Mother Seeks Answers After Daughter Shanquella Robinson Dies While Vacationing With Friends in Cabo

A North Carolina mother is seeking answers surrounding the mysterious death of her daughter, Shanquella Robinson.

On October 28, Robinson traveled to Mexico with some “friends,” and within 24 hours, she was dead.

According to friends, the 24-year-old died of alcohol poisoning, but a disturbing video has emerged, allegedly showing a “naked and defenseless” Robinson being beaten hours before her death.

A woman named Daejhanae Jackson – who was believed to be one of her friends- can be seen punching, hitting, and slamming a woman who appears to be Robinson to the ground in a bedroom.

The man recording the assault can be heard saying, “Quella can you at least fight back, do something.” As the clip went on, the woman continued to land hits, telling Robinson to stand on her feet after she remained on the floor, seemingly intoxicated.

In an exclusive interview with WBTV, Robinson’s parents Bernard and Salamondra, said they believe something horrific happened after receiving an autopsy report revealing she died due to a broken neck and crack in her spine.

“After they said it was alcohol poisoning, we received the autopsy report that said her neck had been broken, and she had a back spasm,” Salamandra said. “I know something was wrong because everyone told a different story.”

The entire group returned from Mexico without her daughter leaving Robinson’s body behind.

Although Robinson’s body is back home, her family still doesn’t have the answer they seek.

According to a statement from the U.S. Department of State, they’re looking into Robinson’s death in Mexico.

“We are aware of these reports regarding Robinson. Protecting the welfare of U.S. citizens overseas is among our top priorities. Out of respect for the privacy of those involved, we have no further comment at this time,” the U.S. Department of State said.

A Baller Alert representative reached out to the Robinson family regarding their daughter’s death. They have not immediately responded to our request for comment.

We will update the story as it continues.
