A terrifying assassination plot from the Barack Obama era has been unearthed, and the details are alarming.
According to an FBI counterterrorism informant named Joe Moore, the Ku Klux Klan planned to kill Obama in 2008. Moore made the stunning revelation in his new tell-all, “White Robes and Broken Badges.” In the book, which was released on August 13th, Moore claims the hate group first began concocting their plan shortly after Moore was initiated into the KKK in 2007. Moore was going to be the gunman in the attack. However, his fellow klansmen didn’t know he was secretly working for the government to take down the domestic terrorist group.
“I had to follow [my orders] and do whatever it took to prevent the assassination of Barack Obama. Because I was the only one who could,” Moore wrote in his book.
Moore says the Klan provided .50-caliber rifles to carry out the killing and began studying Obama’s motorcade movements and locations. All those involved made arrangements to destroy the vehicles that would be used in the assassination immediately after Obama was slain. Thankfully, Moore notified his FBI team, and the plan was foiled. Those Klan members involved were subsequently sentenced to prison.
The informant’s undercover assignment was ultimately uncovered when he interfered with another plan to kill KKK target, Warren Williams. This Black man was saved by Moore, though it led to him and his family being forced into witness protection once klansmen realized he was a federal agent.
