A dietary supplement pitched as a daily edge for focus and energy is now under scrutiny after federal officials flagged it as a serious health risk.
The Food and Drug Administration announced a recall involving Modern Warrior Ready, a dietary supplement promoted for brain function and metabolism support. The action follows the discovery of multiple undeclared ingredients that regulators say can pose dangerous and potentially fatal effects.
Phoenix-based Modern Warrior is recalling all lots of the product after testing revealed the presence of tianeptine, 1,4-DMAA, and aniracetam, none of which were listed on the label.
“Tianeptine can cause life-threatening events including suicidal ideation or behavior in children, adolescents, and adults aged 25 years and younger,” the Jan. 9 release states. “In addition, overdose carries serious and potentially life-threatening risks, including confusion, seizures, drowsiness, dry mouth, and shortness of breath, which can be exacerbated by alcohol use.”
Federal officials also raised concerns about DMAA, a stimulant that was once approved for nasal decongestion but is now illegal to sell as a dietary supplement. The FDA says DMAA can elevate blood pressure and trigger cardiovascular problems, including chest tightening, shortness of breath, and heart attack.
The 60 capsule bottles are labeled with phrases like “Mental Clarity” and “Body Repair Plan” and were advertised as delivering steady energy while providing mood-boosting nootropics.
That claim appears to reference aniracetam, a substance not approved for use in the United States but permitted in some European countries. It is often described as a cognitive enhancer, according to Healthline.
The product was sold directly to consumers nationwide between April 2022 and December 8, 2025. The FDA is urging anyone who purchased the supplement to stop using it immediately.
