A Florida woman was arrested after forcing her two daughters to drink bleach, killing one of them in the process.
According to WSMV, Joanne Zephir, 36, admitted to authorities that she forced her 3-year-old and 8-year-old daughters to drink bleach from a drinking glass due to a “voodoo spell.”
The curse, she claimed, forced her to injure both of her children.
Zephir and the 8-year-old were found unconscious in the driver’s seat of a parked car at the Poinciana Pentecostal Church, while the 3-year-old was discovered on the road nearby.
They were all rushed to a nearby hospital, where the 3-year-old was pronounced dead.
According to police, Zephir faces charges of attempted murder and one count of aggravated child abuse.
