Florida Man Loses Arm After Encounter With Gator Behind Bar, “Its Not The End Of The World” [Video]

A Florida man said, “It’s not the end of the world,” after he had his arm bit off by an alligator outside of a bar.

On Sunday, the 23-year-old man encountered the gator near a pond behind Banditos Bar in the Port Charlotte area.

Luckily for him, a regular at the bar named Manny Hidalgo heard his screams and pulled him onto the sand.

The witness said he was simply “at the right place at the right time.”

Initially, the outlets didn’t report on the man’s identity, but WBBH-TV identified him as Jordan Rivera.

While in the ICU, the man’s mother referred to those who saved her son’s life as “angels.”

Rivera claims that he wasn’t feeding the alligator at the time of the incident. Instead, due to the lengthy wait for the restroom inside, he had made his way to a body of water behind the bar.

“I was just trying to go over there and take a little pee and whatnot,” he said.

According to Rivera, he is grateful for being alive.

He said, “I didn’t lose my life; I lost an arm. It’s not the end of the world.”
