The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office in Georgia confirmed to TMZ that Lil Poppa, born Janarious Mykel Wheeler, was pronounced dead at 11:23 a.m. ET. Officials said his cause of death was not immediately released.

Lil Poppa was also scheduled to perform in New Orleans next month, according to event listings before his death. News of his passing quickly circulated online, prompting tributes from fans who praised his honesty in music and his consistency as an artist.
The 25-year-old also shared a child with Toie Roberts, the daughter of rapper Rick Ross.
As of now, authorities have not shared further details surrounding the circumstances of his death.
