Forbes Lists 2015’s Highest Paid Rap Acts

Not to be confused with 2015’s wealthiest rappers list, Forbes has just dropped their cash kings list, a list of the highest paid rappers of 2015. Instead of simply discussing who is simply worth more, this list focuses on who’s raking in more dough this year. Noticeably, the list is slightly rearranged, with 50 Cent no longer rounding out the Top 5 as we’ve known him to in past years.

This year Puff Daddy comes in on top, bringing in $60 million from Ciroc, Aquahydrate, Revolt TV and Sean John. It’s also rumored that he’s working on No Way Out 2, which could possibly add to his earnings if it drops this year.

Following closely at number two is Jay-Z, aka Shawn Carter, with $56 million worth of earnings this year. Roc Nation, ‘Ace of Spades’ champagne and of course the On The Run Tour contributed to most of that income.

Drake rounds out the Top 3, bringing in $39.5 million thanks in part to spending the year on the road, his deal with Apple Music, endorsements with Nike and Sprite, and the release of his mixtape “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” which he placed for sale on iTunes.

At number five is Dr. Dre with $33 million. It’s no doubt that “Straight Outta Compton” played a huge role in this. His endorsement with Apple, production credits and his “Compton” album also contributed to his income this year.

Coming in at number five is none other than Pharrell Williams who brought in $32 million in 2015. Touring, his appearances on The Voice and his clothing lines keep him “Happy” financially.

Eminem, Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and more are also ranked on the list. Check out the rest on Forbes.com
