Former University Of Florida Football Recruit Who Lost His Scholarship After Posting A Video Saying The N-Word, Lands New HBCU Scholarship Offers

A former University of Florida quarterback recruit who went viral for rapping the n-word receives a new scholarship offer from an HBCU.

On Tuesday, Marcus Stokes announced that he landed a scholarship offer with Albany State University. If you’re not aware, Stokes lost his scholarship, in November to the University of Florida after posting a video online of him saying the n-word while rapping a song.

The four-star recruit later apologized for his actions and called his behavior “hurtful and offensive to many people.” However, Stokes’ apology wasn’t good enough and his scholarship was ultimately revoked.

Nevertheless, Stokes says he’s “blessed” to have the offer. In addition, the quarterback also shared that he received an offer from another HBCU, Alabama A&M University.

“Blessed to receive my first Division 1 HBCU offer from Alabama A&M University,” Stokes tweeted.

Despite having the offers, Stokes is still shopping around for other prospects. According to 247Sports, Stokes has previously expressed interest in Division II school West Florida and is expected to visit the campus sometimes this week.

For the past few seasons, Stokes has starred as the quarterback for Nease High School and is known as one of the top high school quarterbacks in the country.
