A gang member has been arrested for raping a 70-year-old woman.
Twenty-eight-year-old Reginald Bellot was arrested Tuesday and charged with rape, strangulation, predatory sexual assault, criminal sex act, menacing and unlawful imprisonment after he attacked and sexually assaulted an elderly woman inside her Bronx apartment.
The incident took place around 2 a.m. on July 27; Bellot walked up to the woman from behind and pointed his gun at her. From there, he forced himself on her sexually, raping her, and then ran off. The woman reported the attack a week later. The New York Post reports that she was treated for her injuries at BronxCare Health System Hospital.
Bellot has a criminal history, including attempted robbery and prison and prison contraband charges from February 2018. He also served and one-and-a-half to six years, but he was released on parole earlier this year. He also has a burglary charge from 2015. There is no information on the gang that he is a part of.
