‘Hamilton’ and ‘Power’ Star Brandon Victor Dixon To Play Judas in NBC’s “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert”

Just four months after news surfaced of Brandon Victor Dixon’s promotion to a series regular on Starz’s hit series “Power,” the actor, singer, and theatrical producer is taking his talents back to the stage.

From his role as Harpo in Broadway’s “The Color Purple” to his most recent role as Aaron Burr in “Hamilton,” Dixon is returning to theater for NBC’s “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert” as Judas Iscariot.

According to reports, the three-hour live event is set in the final week of Jesus’ life, and told through the eyes of Judas, as he infamously betrays the son of God.

The live concert is set to air on Easter Sunday, performed at Marcy Armory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Deadline reports.
