Looks like pop star Katy Perry could be involved in an upcoming lawsuit. According to TMZ, Katy Perry’s cosmetic line is being called out for being a replica of another cosmetic line called Hard Candy. So much so that Hard Candy is suing Procter & Gamble, the parent company of Covergirl, for Perry’s line of lipsticks, mascaras, and other beauty products.
Hard Candy says they’ve been trademarked for 10 plus years and Perry’s line is infringing. It appears that one of the company’s main issues with the line is that the logo looks similar to theirs. Hard Candy not only wants the line removed from shelves but they also are asking for a cut of the profits made since the beauty line’s launch this past spring.
