Hawaii Proud Boy Chapter Founder and Texas Man Receive 4 Years in Prison for Involvement in Capitol Riot

Hawaii’s Proud Boys founder and another individual have been sentenced to four years in prison for their involvement in the January 6 Capitol riot.
On Friday, it was announced that Honolulu resident Nicholas Ochs, 36, and Fort Worth resident Nicholas DeCarlo, 32, were sentenced to 48 months in prison and 36 months of supervised release.
According to reports, in addition to the prison sentences, Ochs was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine, $2,000 in restitution, and a $100 special assessment.  DeCarlo was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine, $2,000 restitution, and a $100 special assessment.
Before the incident, Ochs and DeCarlo saw Trump at the Ellipse before joining the rioters at the U.S. Capitol. Both individuals spent 40 minutes inside the Capitol after breaking through the Senate Wing Doors.
While inside, Ochs and DeCarlo threw smoke bombs at police and wrote “Murder the Media,” which is the name of the men’s social media channel, on a door to the Capitol.

“These were no teenage pranks,” prosecutors wrote.  “Ochs’ conduct targeted the police and Congress — and like the conduct of every rioter that day, threatened democracy itself.”
