A powerful new chapter is about to unfold for HBCU culture and education: the inaugural HBCU AWAREFEST, dubbed the largest HBCU fundraiser ever, is coming to State Farm Arena in Atlanta on March 26, 2026.
Brought to life through a dynamic partnership between Live Nation Urban (LNU), Student Freedom Initiative (SFI), the City of Atlanta, and Mayor Andre Dickens, the festival aims to address one of the biggest financial burdens facing Black students today: crippling student loan debt.
Ticket sales kicked off on Friday, November 21, via awarefest.org.
Fans can expect a powerhouse blend of music, culture, voice, and activism. The music lineup brings together legends and rising stars from Jill Scott and John Legend to Common, Earth, Wind & Fire, GloRilla, Metro Boomin, Kirk Franklin, Tems, and more, plus special appearances from artists like Coco Jones, PJ Morton, Mickey Guyton, and the cast of Hell’s Kitchen, the Broadway production produced by Alicia Keys.
On top of the music, AWAREFEST brings thought‑provoking panels and powerful voices on stage: Chris Paul, Robert F. Smith, Angel Reese, Ryan Clark, and others will weigh in on strategies to relieve student debt, champion HBCU excellence, and expand access to affordable education.
AWAREFEST isn’t just a concert, it’s a movement, with funds raised going toward SFI’s new Student Freedom Loan Agreement, a fair, income‑contingent alternative to Parent PLUS Loans. Additionally, the festival will rally allies, artists, activists, and students in one unified push to help lift a heavy load that weighs on so many Black families.
