High School Student’s Dance Invite Mocks George Floyd: “It Would Take My Breath Away”

An offensive joke that was first allegedly made by members of the LAPD has now been recycled by a high school student in Nevada, who used it in her invitation to the Sadie Hawkins Dance.

According to TMZ, a picture of a student was taken on the sports field at Foothill High School in Henderson, Nevada, holding up a sign that read “If you went to SADIES w/ me it would take my BREATH away! George Floyd,” alongside a drawing of Floyd.

The Clark County School District says it is actively investigating the matter, and the high school also posted a message on its site saying, “Foothill and CCSD will not tolerate racially insensitive behaviors that contradict an inclusive community and impact the school culture of our students.”
