Hugh Jackman Treated For Skin Cancer For The 4th Time

Hugh Jackman, the actor we know and love in his role as Wolverine in the Marvel Films, has been undergoing treatment for skin cancer.

“Hugh had a basal cell carcinoma removed this morning. This is a result from years of not wearing sunscreen,” his rep told Page Six after Jackman had a malignant growth removed from his nose on Monday. The actor also posted about the procedure on social media. Captioning a photo wearing a band-aid on his nose, Jackman writes, “An example of what happens when you don’t wear sunscreen. Basal Cell. The mildest form of cancer but serious, nonetheless. PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN and get regular check-ups.”

This is Hugh Jackman’s fourth bout with skin cancer. He was first treated for basal cell carcinoma in November 2013. Melanoma is the most serious type of skin cancer, but no cancer is a good cancer.

“I go every three months for check-ups,” Jackman told People in 2015. “It’s the new normal for me. My doctor says I’ll likely have more, and if that’s your cross to bear in life, you should be so lucky.”

Also black people, please also use sunscreen. We may be less susceptible to sun burns, but we are not exempt from skin cancer.
