Ice Cube believes the mounting legal woes plaguing Diddy are part of a calculated plot to take him down.
The “Today Was A Good Day” rapper sat down with the PBD Podcast days ago, where the subject of the Bad Boy founder came up. Host Patrick Bet-David asked Cube if he was shocked by the Diddy sexual assault allegations. According to the Big3 creator, there isn’t much that shocks him anymore.
“How could you be surprised with anything that happens in hip-hop? Hip-hop is the wild west. You’re gonna have the good, you’re gonna have the bad, you’re gonna have the ugly,” Cube explained before suggesting Diddy might be victimized in a sense. “I believe he’s being targeted. I believe somebody has the power to pull the trigger to make this stuff just domino effect.”
Diddy was first accused of sexual assault and other abuse by ex-girlfriend Cassie in November 2023. He settled with her the following day, though this seemingly opened the floodgates for many others to come forward with other allegations. The embattled mogul is currently facing at least eight lawsuits, one of which even being from male producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, who claims Diddy sexually assaulted him also. Still, Cube says he isn’t informed enough to make a decision but does believe the recent turn of events is all motivated by something or someone.
“I don’t know enough to even be able to be specific on any of this stuff. It’s just all speculation. I just know he was cool up until a point and then stuff started happening so I believe somebody, like I said, said ‘Yo, he’s our new guy we’re onto,’” he explained.
