Ice Cube Sued By Longtime Friend & Producer Over Unpaid Royalties

Ice Cube is being sued by his longtime producer Sir Jinx for unpaid wages.

On Monday, TMZ broke the story surrounding the lawsuit against Cube. According to the suit documents, Jinx seeks to collect unpaid royalties related to the production of up to 28 records, some of which date back to Cube’s 1990 critically acclaimed debut album, “AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted.”

Jinx, whose real name is Anthony D. Wheaton, says that it wasn’t until 2019 that he realized he was not being paid the number of royalties owed to him. He says that trying to resolve the situation outside the courtroom did not play out well with Cube, who refused to pay up. This reportedly left him no choice but to take legal action against the rapper-turned movie producer.

He requests that a judge grant him over $100,000 for his work on well-known Cube tracks such as “True to the Game” and “No Vaseline.”

While Ice Cube has not publicly responded to Jinx’s lawsuit, a source close to him revealed to TMZ that the rapper loaned Jinx money many times throughout the years that he has not paid back.
