Iman Shumpert Breaks Silence After Woman Accuses Him of Hitting Her During Home Dispute

Police responded to Iman Shumpert’s Atlanta residence on November 26 following a reported verbal dispute involving allegations of physical contact.

According to TMZ, officers arrived at approximately 4:37 AM and observed Shumpert placing a suitcase outside. He explained to the authorities that he had repeatedly asked a woman, identified as Joanna Donnejour, to leave his home.

According to the police report, Donnejour told officers that the disagreement occurred in Shumpert’s bedroom and involved concerns regarding his communication with another woman while a separate guest was present.

She alleged that Shumpert escorted her from the room by holding her wrist and foot as he guided her toward the stairs. Donnejour stated she had requested a ride before police arrived and expressed her intent to press charges, claiming that Shumpert “hit her.”

The report confirmed that Donnejour had no visible injuries or bruises, and law enforcement did not file any charges. TMZ noted that bodycam footage captured Donnejour telling Shumpert, “See you in court and on Instagram in the morning.”

Shumpert addressed the situation in a statement shared with the outlet.

He said, “Last week, I had friends over and a visitor at my residence was politely asked to leave several times after I witnessed her damaging personal property. The police were called, invited inside, and they spoke with multiple people who saw what happened. After assessing the situation, the police instructed her to leave repeatedly. She refused to vacate the property after being asked to leave multiple times and only after the officers escorted her outside did she eventually depart.”

He emphasized that the matter was resolved promptly, stating, “This matter was quickly closed that night by the police after they did their investigation.”
