In The Case Of Colin Kaepernick, There Is A Such Thing As Being Too Big

Get your mind out of the gutter ladies, we’re talking about the upper body this time!  It’s no secret that Kaepernick spends a ton of time in the weight room, but could it possibly cost the star quarterback performance wise? According to 49’ers head coach Jim Harbaugh he’s fearful that Colin is doing TOO MUCH lifting and urges him to slow down.

In a recent interview with CSN Bay Area, 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh was asked whether there was a fear that his starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick could spend to much time in the weight room while going through his offseason workout regimen at CES Performance in Atlanta. Harbaugh responded:

“If you’re just talking about weightlifting and upper-body strength, yes, I think there is that fear,” Harbaugh said.

“It’s something we’ve talked about. ‘I don’t want you getting too jacked-up, Colin.’ I want some speed, quickness, not just (flexing his chest muscles).”

Colin, you’re fine as is. Don’t let the extra bulk cost you in the long run.
