Iowa Reporter Who Called Out Racist Tweets On Viral Sensation Carson King Gets Fired After His Own Racist Tweets Get Exposed

In an interesting turn of events, what started out as a $1 million spontaneous fundraiser has turned into a case of uncovering racist tweets. Carson King, the 24-year-old who went viral after ESPN cameras caught sight of him holding a “need beer” sign, was applauded for donating the money he received to his local Children’s hospital. Busch Light was so impressed that they offered to match the money raised however, after old tweets surfaced of Kings racist, sexist and homophobic Busch severed all ties.  Ironically, the journalist who exposed Kings former tweets, Aaron Calvin, had some dirty laundry of his own.

There were mixed reactions and harsh criticism of Calvin and his employer, The Register, for bringing Kings tweets from 2012 to the surface. Many felt that the statements made by a then 18 year old high school student shouldn’t overshadow his recent good deeds. Ironically, those same critics started doing some digging and found inappropriate and insensitive comments on the journalists twitter feed. As a result, Calvin lost his job as a reporter and a discussion about “cancel culture” has ensued.

Each time a racist gets exposed they tend to make the same excuse, “I was young”, “I was drunk”, “It was a joke” or something to that effect. What is it about youth and liquor that turn some white people into stark raving racist? Well, the answer is simple really, it’s the culture of whiteness as a whole and there’s no place for it in a modern society.
