Ja Rule fired off a string of tweets aimed directly at 50 Cent, who recently stepped into the spotlight as an executive producer on The Reckoning, the documentary examining Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal battles and abuse allegations.
While the doc has sparked widespread discussion, Ja Rule made it clear he wasn’t impressed with Herman’s new role. Instead, he accused 50 Cent of using documentaries to position himself as a moral voice while ignoring his own history.
In his tweets, Ja Rule referred to 50 Cent as a “dry snitch,” claiming his involvement in high-profile exposés has less to do with helping victims and more to do with self-promotion. He argued that if 50 were truly motivated by justice, he’d contribute profits to organizations supporting survivors.
Then he took it further, pulling up 50 Cent’s documented 2013 domestic violence case involving model Daphne Joy, who accused him of kicking her and destroying thousands of dollars in property during an argument in Los Angeles. Although 50 Cent ultimately pled no contest to a vandalism charge as part of a plea deal, he was sentenced to probation, community service, domestic violence counseling, fines, restitution, and was ordered to stay away from Joy.
Ja also pointed to Joy’s 2024 public statements, where she accused 50 of additional abuse over the years. No new charges came from those allegations, but Ja Rule used the claims to highlight what he views as hypocrisy in 50’s new role as a producer of stories centered on accountability.
Ja clarified that he is not defending Diddy or dismissing the accusations against him. Instead, he said he’s calling attention to Herman’s character, questioning why 50 Cent is positioning himself as the storyteller behind other people’s misconduct while his own past continues to be discussed and disputed.
