Jaguars LB Dan Skuta Arrested After Assaulting a Woman Who Wouldn’t Give Him Her Number – blogged by @LoveRubyWoo

For one reason or another, NFL players always tend to get themselves in trouble during the offseason, and it’s usually over the silliest things. Such was the case with Jaguars’ Dan Skuta, who recently found himself behind bars after letting his male ego get the best of him.

Skuta, a 30-year-old veteran linebacker, was arrested earlier this month for first-degree misdemeanor battery after getting in an altercation with a woman outside of an Orlando bar.

According to the police report, Skuta was hanging out outside of the bar at around 2 AM when he approached a woman and tried to flirt with her. He asked her for her number and when she said no, he became angry and the two of them got into it. One thing led to another, and Skuta pushed the woman’s face with his hand, causing her to hit her head against a glass window.

The woman’s friend found police nearby and reported what had happened. Skuta, who was reported to be under the influence of alcohol with “bloodshot/glassy eyes”, was arrested but released on bond shortly afterwards. He is scheduled to appear in court next month.

The Jaguars have released a statement regarding their player’s arrest, saying, “The Jaguars are aware of the situation involving linebacker Dan Skuta and are currently gathering more information. The team has been in constant communication with Dan through this process in its entirety. No further comment can be made at this time.”
