Jay Z Doesn’t Want To Own The Brooklyn Nets Anymore

Welp! That was short lived. It looks like Jay Z will be selling his share of the Brooklyn Nets soon. Don’t worry folks, it’s for the greater good. As you may have heard, the music mogul has launched his very own sports management agency called Roc Nation Agency. Jigga man wants to be so hands on in the project that he is selling his 1% of the Nets to become an agent himself. I guess visiting the Kentucky locker room wasn’t in vain.

Entertainment mogul and rapper Jay-Z has started the process of divesting his small share of ownership with the Brooklyn Nets to extend his Roc Nation Sports representation business into basketball, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Selling his share of the Nets is a necessary prelude for Jay-Z to obtain his National Basketball Players Association certification as an agent.

NBA rules mandate that no one individual affiliated with a player representation company can have an ownership stake with an NBA team.

I guess we can all go burn our Brooklyn Nets gear now.
