Rymir Satterthwaite has long claimed that Jay-Z is his biological father and has sought DNA testing to confirm it. Despite dropping a separate paternity lawsuit earlier this year, Satterthwaite says his fight is far from over.
“I did withdraw my case, but it’s for a reason. It’s not because I’m stopping it or I’m going to refile. It’s just a lot going on behind closed doors […] I have not gotten any DNA test. I have not gotten a settlement. It is not over,” he said.
However, recently, Jay-Z scored a legal win when U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett rejected a temporary restraining order requested by Lillie Coley, Satterthwaite’s former legal guardian.
Coley had argued that the rapper’s legal team was retaliating against her by seeking sanctions, claiming she was only advocating for Satterthwaite after his mother passed away.
The judge’s decision allows Jay-Z to continue pursuing sanctions against Coley. Court documents describe her actions as “decades-long harassment,” and the ruling clears the way for the Roc Nation founder’s legal team to hold her accountable in court.
Hov has consistently denied being related to Satterthwaite and called the paternity claims baseless. Both Satterthwaite and Coley were barred from filing new lawsuits in New Jersey in 2022 after several failed attempts to pursue the matter legally.
