The woman at the center of the now-dismissed sexual assault claims against Jay-Z is now urging the courts to protect her identity.
According to a report by Complex, in new court documents, the woman says she was harassed at her own home by investigators and fears her children and family could be targeted if she’s identified.
Her psychiatrist, Dr. John T. Olsen, backed her request in court, warning the exposure could do serious psychological damage.
“From a psychiatric standpoint, the forced disclosure of her identity in this context would have catastrophic consequences for her mental health,” Olsen wrote. “Such public exposure would destabilize her current mental health recovery.”
He added that the fallout could be severe, triggering a decline in her mental health and putting her at greater risk long-term.
Last year, the woman filed a lawsuit accusing Jay-Z and Diddy of assaulting her at a party following the 2000 MTV VMAs. The case was dropped earlier this year, but she said in a declaration that fear of retaliation from Jay-Z or his supporters played a role in that decision.
Despite her case being dismissed, Jay-Z fired back with a defamation suit, alleging she lied and that her attorneys encouraged it. A judge has yet to rule on whether her identity will be protected as the legal battle continues.
