Federal Judge Allows Texas Woman To Go On Four Day Mexico Trip

A federal judge has granted a Texas woman’s request to go on a trip to Mexico, but the gotcha gotcha is—the woman was charged with two misdemeanors for her involvement at the Capitol riot.

In another case of apparent white privilege, Jenny Cudd had the audacity to ask federal DC District Court Judge Trevor N. McFadden for permission to visit Riviera Maya, Mexico, for a four-day retreat this month, CNN reports.

What’s even more mind-blowing is McFadden granted her request on Friday.

Mind you, McFadden is a Trump appointee. He noted that the Justice Department was not in opposition to her request to travel to Mexico.

“The Court also notes (Cudd) has no criminal history and there is no evidence before the Court suggesting the Defendant is a flight risk or poses a danger to others,” McFadden wrote in a written order.

Cudd—a florist and former mayoral candidate from Midland, Texas—was charged with knowingly entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. She was arrested and released in January.

Prosecutors have since brought additional and more serious charges in a second indictment.

Apparently, the Justice Department wants to keep the handful of rioters accused of violent crimes and conspiracies in jail as they await trial. Therefore Cudd was released.

A lawyer representing Cudd told the news outlet that she plans to plead not guilty to the charges and noted that she is complying with the court-order guidelines of her release.

Cudd’s defense team said her trip was planned before she participated in the January 6 riot. However, the Justice Department doesn’t want to lessen her role in the attack.

In court filings, they referenced her Facebook posts and interviews following the riot.

“F— yes, I am proud of my actions, I f—ing charged the Capitol today with patriots today. Hell, yes, I am proud of my actions,” Cudd said in the Facebook video, according to court records.

In a Livestream video, Cudd detailed how she “pushed and pushed” and “got up to the top of the Capitol.” She also claimed “there was a door open and we went inside,” and later was able to “break down the Nancy Pelosi’s office door,” referring to the Democratic speaker of the House.

Two days later, in a local news interview, she said, “I would absolutely do it again.”
