Judge Shuts Down YG In Legal Battle Over Alleged Vegas Robbery

YG’s legal issues in the May Las Vegas incident just got a little worse. A Los Angeles judge has ordered the civil lawsuit brought by a man named Benjamin Naderi against YG to move forward.

The “Big Bank” rapper attempted to have the entire case put on hold until the criminal trial he is facing over the same incident is finalized, but apparently, the judge doesn’t see that necessary. YG fears if he talks in the civil suit, prosecutors from the criminal case can use the information against him. He said if the judge allows the lawsuit to continue, he will invoke his fifth amendment privileges against self-incrimination.

YG was originally facing one charge for felony robbery, but after a grand jury indictment in September, he‘s now facing three felonies, including grand larceny and larceny from a person.
The grand larceny and robbery charges carry a maximum sentence of 10 years each.

In July, YG turned himself into Vegas police and was arrested for an incident at The Cosmopolitan Hotel, where the rapper’s crew allegedly jumped Naderi and snatched his chain.

Naderi sued YG for assault, battery and theft and the Cosmo hotel for not providing adequate security. The whole lawsuit is seeking over $250,000 in damages.
