DNA Confirms Kada Scott Remains as Suspect Faces Updated Charges in Philadelphia Case

Authorities in Philadelphia revealed Monday that the human remains discovered over the weekend have been positively identified as those of 23-year-old Kada Scott. Her parents addressed the media in an emotional statement as new charges were filed against the suspect in her case, 21-year-old Keon King.

King, who was already facing charges of kidnapping and endangering another person, now faces additional charges including arson, conspiracy, tampering with evidence, and causing a catastrophe. These new charges are linked to a vehicle fire investigators believe is connected to Scott’s disappearance.

District Attorney Larry Krasner confirmed that Scott’s remains were identified through DNA and emphasized that while more charges are expected, the investigation will be handled by the book.

Scott disappeared on October 4th after arriving at work but leaving before her shift ended. Her car was later found abandoned. Tips led investigators to a burned Hyundai Accent believed to have been used to move her body.

A recent search at the abandoned Ada Lewis Middle School yielded the remains after a specific tip directed police to look again at the site.

King remains in custody with bail set at $2.5 million. Krasner noted more charges may be filed soon and encouraged the public to come forward with any additional information.
