It seems to be the season of lawsuits for Kanye West, who has just been hit with another one, this time for assault.
The “Power” rapper and producer is being dragged to court for assault and battery for allegedly hitting a fan in 2022. Per the recent court filing brought forth by Justin Poplawski filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, West became irate when Poplawski asked him for an autograph. Poplawski, an autograph dealer, says he waited for West outside the Soho Warehouse in Downtown Los Angeles. He’d previously obtained a signature from West without incident, though things spiraled on January 13th, 2022.
According to RadarOnline, the victim claims that when West exited the building, he shouted at him, “I’m going to make a f**king example out of you.” This was followed by, “Go the f**k [out of] here before I beat you the f**k up. I’m going to make a f**king example out of you.” Then, Poplawski says West hit him, and when he demanded an apology from the Grammy award winner, he was struck repeatedly, leaving him injured.
Poplawski is seeking unspecified damages for medical bills related to the incident, as well as all potential lost earnings. Additionally, he says he was left disfigured by West’s attack and has endured several mental anguish, which he also wishes to be compensated for.
West hasn’t said anything publicly about this latest suit, but he is battling a separate one related to an unfinished Los Angeles home that he reportedly gutted. The construction manager sued West for unpaid wages related to the massive project, which was left incomplete.
