Karl Lagerfeld’s Cat To Inherit Part of His Massive Fortune

This is the first time I’ve ever said a cat is richer than me.

Many have been mourning the late fashion icon, Karl Lagerfeld, since his recent passing. Besides the legacy he left behind in the industry, he also left behind his favorite feline, Choupette. Though she lost her daddy, Choupette will be set for all nine lives with the inheritance of Lagerfeld’s fortune.

Her luxurious lifestyle will be left unbothered, as she is expected to inherit a portion of Lagerfeld’s $170 million+ fortune – though the exact amount remains unclear. Her life has been full of pâté dining, envious manicures, and private jet flights. So it was important to the artistic director of Chanel to look out for his “daughter” like any responsible parent would.

Choupette is no stranger to the good life with a full-time maid staff dedicated to taking care of her. Plus, sis has been booked and busy gathering her own coin booking modeling gigs. About $3 million worth, to be specific.

But, despite the cat’s alleged newfound fortune, she still is dealing with the loss of her human companion. In fact, her Instagram account (that’s run by her own social media manager, by the way) shared a somber message of “thanks” as fans expressed condolences. Choupette was truly more than just an animal as she traveled from fashion house to fashion house around the world.

CNBC reported if the money trail ends with Choupette, she will break the record for the world’s wealthiest cat.
