Influencer and model Kayla Nicole is not interested in being referred to as Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend anymore.
It’s been three years since their on-again, off-again relationship ended, and Nicole is ready to shed the label. Appearing on the “Second Wind Podcast” with Marion Jones, Nicole opened up about the ongoing frustration of constantly being linked to the Kansas City Chiefs star.
“It’s like, ‘damn, girl, did you listen to anything,'” Nicole said about media interviews that zero in on her breakup instead of her work. “I am human and take it with a grain of salt now. One day, they’re going to have to stop calling me someone’s ex. I don’t know if that means I have to date someone else publicly, but they’re going to have to just let it go. Until then, I’m going to ride this off into the sunset.”
While headlines often link her back to Kelce, Nicole knows she can’t control the narrative, but she hopes her journey inspires others.
“If I can make her feel like she’s seen and understood, and if I can make it out of something like this, so she, that’s what my job here is to do. Other than that, I don’t care. I simply don’t care,” she added.
Kelce and Nicole were together for roughly five years from 2017 to 2022 before splitting for good. Despite the lingering public association, both Nicole and Kelce appear to be thriving individually in their respective careers and personal lives. He has since moved on to singer Taylor Swift, though it’s unclear if Nicole is dating anyone.
