Kevin Hart Announces He Will No Longer Host The Academy Awards After He Refuses To Apologize For Old Tweets

Kevin Hart announces via Instagram that his gig hosting the Academy Awards may be in jeopardy because he refuses to apologize for old tweets that he has already been receiving backlash for.

Hart stated in an IG video he posted to his profile, “So I just got a call from the Academy…that call basically said, ‘Kevin, apologize for your tweets of old, or we’re gonna have to move on and find another host.’”

Kevin asserts that there’s no need to apologize because he has already addressed those tweets, amongst others, over the years and he doesn’t want to continue bringing up things from his past, he’s “moved on”.

He made an even more valid point stating, “The same energy that went into finding the old tweets could’ve went into finding the response to the questions that have been asked years after years after years.” The tweets are from 2009…and he’s a comedian!

Kevin ended the video stating, “Regardless Academy, I’m thankful and appreciative of the opportunity. If it goes away, no harm no foul.”

Kudos to Kevin for standing his ground!
