Kim Kardashian has been chasing her dream of becoming a lawyer since 2019, following in her late father Robert Kardashian’s footsteps.
Instead of attending law school, she’s been taking the California “reading law” path, studying under mentors and gaining legal experience through an apprenticeship.
In 2021, Kim finally passed the state’s “baby bar” after multiple attempts. This time, she took the full California bar exam earlier this year, and today, she revealed that she didn’t pass.
On Instagram, Kim kept it real: “I’m not a lawyer yet… I just play one on TV. But I’m not quitting. Falling short isn’t failure — it’s fuel.”
She admitted the setback hurt but said she’s more motivated than ever.
The California bar exam is one of the hardest in the country, with pass rates often below 60%. Kim’s decision to skip traditional law school and learn through an apprenticeship makes her journey even tougher.
She’s also starring in All’s Fair, Hulu’s new legal drama where she plays a divorce attorney,so the timing of the results definitely got people talking.
But even with cameras rolling and critics watching, Kim says her law dream is personal. She’s been vocal about wanting to use her degree to work on criminal justice reform, helping wrongfully convicted people get second chances.
Kim’s already said she’s planning to retake the exam.
