On Monday, West took to his Twitter and unloaded a slew of tweets discussing his heartfelt thoughts about his wife’s decision to do Playboy. He also claimed Kim Kardashian sold her sex tape and attempted to have a doctor “lock” him up. The tweets ignited the hashtag #PrayForYe, and even West’s friend and comedian Dave Chappelle flew out to Wyoming to check on the musician’s mental state. But now, a source has confirmed that West’s claims that Kardashian-West tried to lock him up stem from Kardashian’s attempt to get her husband some help. The insider told PEOPLE that the reality star “has been trying to get Kanye help for weeks.”

“But what do you do when a person doesn’t want help?” the source questioned. The 43-year-old has been at the family’s compound in Cody, Wyoming, the outlet reports. “Kanye is in Cody because he doesn’t want help. If he wanted help, he would come back to L.A.” Kardashian has reportedly been consulting with doctors. “Kim’s family is around to support her, as always. And they love Kanye. They want him to be healthy,” the source says. “They are all trying to figure out how to help Kanye. They are in contact with medical professionals for guidance.”

The now-deleted tweets that came from West were alarming. Many addressed Kardashian’s alleged attempt to commit him and tweets that seemingly showed West’s concern over his daughter North doing Playboy in the future. In a picture of him with his family, the photo is captioned, “West children will never do playboy.” He also called out #KrisJenner and Kardashian, telling them to call him. “Kriss don’t play with me you and that calmye are not allowed around my children Ya’ll tried to lock me up,” he wrote.

The source says that Kardashian is “furious” with West for bringing up North during his presidential campaign rally on Sunday. West revealed that Kardashian considered getting an abortion in 2013. “Kim is shocked that Kanye spoke about North at the rally,” said the source. “She is furious that he shared something so private. She loves her kids tremendously and wants to protect them.” The source went on to say that the couple is now going through hard times. “Things have broken down significantly between the two of them, and it’s happened pretty suddenly,” source explained. “Kanye has been doing well for a long time. In the past, he has suffered both manic and depressive episodes related to his bipolar disorder. Right now, he is struggling again,” said the source.
