Kimora Lee Simmons Fights to Keep $25M Beverly Hills Mansion Purchased With Funds Her Estranged Husband Admitted Were Stolen

Kimora Lee Simmons is fighting in court to keep a $25 million Beverly Hills mansion that her estranged husband admitted was purchased with stolen 1MDB funds.

The legal battle between Kimora and 1MDB over ownership of the 1MDB mansion has dragged on for years and is now approaching another key court date. The seven-bedroom estate at 25 Beverly Park Circle was bought in 2017 by former Goldman Sachs executive Tim Leissner.

In sworn testimony during a 2022 federal trial in Brooklyn, Leissner acknowledged the money used to buy the property came from 1Malaysia Development Berhad, known globally as 1MDB. The fund became the center of a massive international fraud investigation involving billions of dollars.

“I bought the property… with $25 million that had been stolen from the Malaysian people,” Leissner testified under oath.

He pleaded guilty in 2018 to conspiracy and bribery charges connected to the 1MDB fraud scandal. In May 2025, he was sentenced to two years in federal prison. Authorities have recovered more than $1.4 billion in assets tied to the scheme, but the Beverly Hills mansion was not seized.

Instead, the Kimora Lee Simmons legal battle over 1MDB mansion ownership now centers on a 2020 property transfer. Court filings show Leissner’s holding company sold the estate to entities linked to investors David and Simon Reuben after refinancing efforts reportedly fell apart. The arrangement required monthly payments of about $67,000 for Simmons and Leissner to remain in the home.

According to court records, those payments were not made.

Simmons is contesting the validity of the sale. In legal filings, she alleges her signature on certain documents was obtained through “misrepresentation and abuse of trust.” The civil case includes cross claims between Simmons, Leissner, Keyway Pride LLC, and the property’s current ownership entities. A trial setting conference is scheduled for late February.

There are no allegations that Simmons participated in or had knowledge of the underlying 1MDB fraud.

The mansion has appeared in exterior shots of her E! series Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane, where she once joked, “My name is Kimora, and I am a hoarder — but a luxury hoarder.”

Now, the future of that luxury address sits with the court.
