Kodak Black Arrested On A Trespassing Charge On NYE

Kodak Black was arrested on New Year’s Eve on a misdemeanor trespassing charge.

On Saturday morning, Kodak returned to an old neighborhood in Greenacres. The rapper went to hang out with friends and pay off credit card debt for a few families. While there, authorities showed up and arrested Kodak for trespassing.

According to the local housing authority, Kodak was in violation of a cease-or-desist letter that was sent to him four months prior. In September, the housing authority wasn’t too happy with Kodak providing AC units to the residents. Thus, prompting them to send off the letter to the rapper.

Now, Kodak wasn’t causing any disturbance, but his presence was enough to call Broward County Sheriff’s Office to have him arrested. However, he did not stay in custody for too long.

Kodak’s lawyer claims the arrest was unlawful since Kodak was never properly served with the letter. The cease and desist letter never got to Kodak but instead sent to his label. His lawyer also says the letter never said Kodak couldn’t be on the property, so the arrest wasn’t necessary.

Kodak was booked at 3:02 am and was released on a $25 bond a few hours later. The rapper went live hours following his arrest and said he’s done with the hood because going back is hindering his growth. According to Kodak, he was set to link up with Kanye West to discuss business. However, he was arrested before that could happen.
