Lady Gaga Ends Miami Performance Early, Tearfully Apologizes To Fans [Video]

Lady Gaga tearfully apologized to her fans after heavy rain and lightning ended her Miami concert early. The Hard Rock Stadium performance was the final show of The Chromatica Ball Tour

Gaga shared a video on her Instagram on Sunday to give her fans more details. She revealed that she wanted to finish the show, but “lightning striking right down to the ground so close” to the stadium made it impossible to safely continue.

“Look, I know that, for a really long time, I’ve always wanted to be that hardcore bad bitch, but what I really want is to also be responsible and loving, and I don’t know what I would do if anything happened to anybody in the audience or to any member of my crew, my band, my dancers,” Gaga said through tears. “I’m sorry that we didn’t get to do the epic performance of ‘Rain on Me’ in the rain, but what’s more worth it to me is life.”

While Gaga did not personally get to sing “Rain on Me,” the crowd took matters into their own hands. Video of audience members belting out the song while seeking shelter from the teeming rain can be heard belting out the song.

In Gaga’s video, she held up a bouquet of flowers thrown at her by a fan and said she “will cherish them forever.” The singer paused while she cried before reflecting on what it took for her to be in a healthy place to be able to perform again.

“I hope you know that part of why I decided not to finish this show was because I am healthy, and it’s a healthy decision for all of you and for myself as well,” she said. “I love you.

While her Miami performance was a wash, fans can next catch Gaga in the Joker sequel alongside Joaquin Phoenix. Joker: Folie à Deux is due out in October 2024, and the singer is in talks to play Harley Quinn.
