LAPD Arrest Man Suspected Of Following Traveling Teen Girl And Raping Her

The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested the man suspected of following and raping a teen girl.

On Wednesday, the LAPD found and arrested who they believe is the man who followed a 16-year-old girl from Long Beach and raped her. As Baller Alert previously reported, both the teen and the accused rapist were riding the same train from downtown Long Beach before the incident happened on Sept. 26. They were not together and did not know one another.

He continued to follow her after she got off on Vernon Avenue and San Pedro Street. The man then went up to the teen from behind and grabbed her by the neck. “The suspect forced the victim to a parking lot of an apartment building where he threatened to kill her and then raped her,” said reports.

Police identified the suspect as 45-year-old Terry Edward Scott Jr. He’s been booked n suspicion of rape and kidnapping the victim. His background includes being on probation for a narcotics offense, KTLA 5 reports. Investigators say the man approached the girl several times on the Metro platform before getting on the train to follow her. The girl tried to avoid the man by moving to a different car.

The man found her in the other car and tried to talk to her, but she asked him to leave her alone. He continued to pursue and eventually grabbed her from behind while she was walking home on Historic South-Central.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
