LeBron James says he is adjusting to a new stage of fatherhood now that his oldest son, Bronny James, has officially moved into his own apartment. After the Lakers’ 140–126 win over the Utah Jazz, LeBron admitted their daily conversations have naturally slowed down.
“Bronny’s not a resident anymore, so we don’t talk as much,” LeBron told reporters with a smile. He called out jokingly to the cameras, “Bronny, how are you!?”
Bronny, 21, is the oldest of LeBron James and Savannah James’ three kids. He is followed by Bryce, 18, and Zhuri, 11. Last season, LeBron and Bronny made NBA history as the first active father and son to appear on the same roster. They first shared the court professionally in 2024, a moment LeBron had dreamed of since Bronny was in high school and later attending USC.
The NBA legend said there is no tension behind the reduced communication. He believes it is a normal step now that Bronny is managing his own schedule, his own place, and his own responsibilities. LeBron also said he is proud of his son for taking a major step into adulthood and handling everything that comes with independence.
The James family continues to be one of the most followed families in sports. Their father–son NBA milestone became one of the biggest basketball stories of 2024, and fans still talk about how rare the achievement was. As Bronny settles into life on his own, LeBron is embracing the new transition while still cheering for his son’s success both on and off the court.
