The 32-year-old R&B artist walked away from the 2026 Grammy Awards as a newly crowned two-time winner after a big night at the Premiere Ceremony on Sunday, February 1. The early celebrations went down at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and set the tone before the main telecast even began.
Leon earned Best Traditional R&B Performance for his song “Vibes Don’t Lie” and also secured Best R&B Album for “Mutt.” While the wins were locked in early, the night itself came with a little scheduling chaos.
During the announcement of his first award, Leon was not in the room. He was across town at the Crypto.com Arena rehearsing for his scheduled Grammys performance. Because of that, his mother stepped in and accepted the trophy on his behalf, making the moment a family win too.
He made it just in time for the second category, arriving back at the Peacock Theater to personally accept Best R&B Album and celebrate with peers and fans in the room.
On top of the two victories, Leon is still in the mix for Best New Artist, keeping his breakout year firmly in the spotlight.
