Lil Durk will have to wait even longer to face a jury. A federal judge has officially pushed his murder-for-hire trial to January 2026, despite the rapper’s strong push to have it happen this fall.
Durk is accused of orchestrating a 2022 hit on fellow rapper Quando Rondo in Los Angeles. Prosecutors say it was carried out by members of his Only The Family crew and was meant as retaliation for the 2020 killing of his close friend King Von. That ambush left Rondo unharmed but killed his cousin, Saviay’a Robinson.
Durk was indicted last year on charges including conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and possession of a firearm. His legal team fought to keep the case on track for an October 2025 trial, but the judge ruled the case is too “complex” to proceed on that timeline.
“The volume of evidence and number of defendants makes preparation unreasonable within the standard time limits,” the court wrote.
That delay applies to everyone involved in the case, including Durk, who had been vocal about wanting to resolve things sooner. He also challenged the credibility of an FBI informant and denied threatening witnesses.
