Lil’ Wayne made his comeback last year not only in music, releasing “TheCarterV,” but also in the sports realm as his sports agency, Young Money APAA, has been on the hunt for some fresh talent. Now, one of the top NFL draft prospects has been signed to his agency.
DeAndre Baker has inked a deal with Young Money Sports, and according to Young Money COO Cortez Bryant, Baker is “a silent Assassin on that field.” Bryant continued, “I can’t wait until he shows the world why he’s the #1 corner in this draft!”
Wayne posted a video clip of the official announcement, which highlights a few of Baker’s accomplishments while “Uproar” plays in the background. The caption read, “Welkome to the family #DreBaker1_ !! Lets Work!”
Baker’s accolades were tremendous even before gaining the #YoungMoney affiliation. He was a semi-finalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award and won the Jim Thorpe Award for the best DB in the nation while playing for the Georgia Bulldogs. Draft experts expect him to be in the top half of April’s first round picks.
