Lori Vallow, Mother of Missing Idaho Children, Arrested In Hawaii

Police have arrested Lori Vallow, the mother of two children who have been missing since September of last year in what’s become a most bizarre case.

According to CNN, authorities are still trying to piece together what happened to Vallow’s two children; 7-year-old Joshua and 17-year-old Tylee, who have been missing for the last five months.

Police in Rexburg, Idaho, were initially called to perform a welfare check on the kids back in November, when other family members became concerned that no one had heard from Joshua, who is adopted and has special needs, in nearly two months.

When officers contacted Vallow, she claimed that the child was staying with a family friend in Arizona, but authorities were able to determine that it wasn’t true. When they returned to Vallow’s home the next day, police learned that she had “abruptly” fled the area, prompting a search for her, her husband, and the missing children.

Police were only able to verify that Joshua was not with the couple when they left Idaho, which also led cops to begin to search for her 17-year-old daughter, Tyree, to no avail.

In a December news release, cops said, “We …have information indicating that Lori knows either the location of the children or what has happened to them. Despite having this knowledge, she has refused to work with law enforcement.”

Since her children’s disappearance, Vallow has re-married and fled to Hawaii with her husband, providing cops with limited information or cooperation in their quest to find her kids.

The Prosecuting Attorney in Madison County, Idaho, said in a statement that Vallow is now facing two counts of felony desertion of a child and misdemeanor charges of resisting and obstructing officers, solicitation of a crime and contempt. She was arrested in Hawaii and is being held on $5 million bail.
