“Love & Hip Hop” Star Olivia Talks Dating Rappers, How She’s Perceived On The Show & More (Exclusive)

BallerAlert.com sat down with “Love & Hip Hop’s” Olivia Longott to talk everything from well….Love to Hip Hop lol . As usual Baller Alert is here bring you the exclusives. With a new single, a new TV show and another chance at stardom, Olivia has a lot to say and definitely doesn’t want you to count her out yet!

Baller Alert: Quite early in the show you were questioned about your relationship with New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis. Emily took it upon herself to call you out on what she believed was a lie. After the Darrelle Revis incident, how do you feel about your portrayal on “Love & Hip Hop” thus far? Do you still talk to Darrelle?

Olivia: I believe the show portrayed some false information but i get it, its TV! I am a strong person so i just dealt with it.

In regards to Darrelle, Olivia took to her website Olivia Worldwide to say:

“With that said, YES, Darrelle and I were in a relationship (as he stated). At the beginning of the shows taping, with our traveling and hectic schedules, we were trying to figure out what was next for us – whether we were taking the next step and going full force with it or leaving things alone. I actually thought he would come on the show with me but due to what I was told (he was keeping a low profile while his negotiations were happening), he didn’t. To my surprise, he then came on the show with Emily once taping officially began and said we were no longer together, which is fine. We actually weren’t together at the time of shooting that episode. It was a little hurtful that he did that, but fine, so be it. Things happen and that’s what he chose to do. I’ve learned in life that we must let the chips fall as they may. Just know this, I don’t have to lie about a man or being in a relationship with someone.”

Baller Alert: How do you feel when you hear people saying that you may have instigated the ‘Jim Jones vs Maurice’ confrontation?

Olivia: I have a hard time understanding why many people feel like i instigated the maurice/jim situation. Aren’t you supposed to defend your friends or tell them when someone is talking bad about them. Friends hold each other down and thats all i was doing.

Baller Alert: A few of our readers were wondering if you would ever do a song with your co-star Somaya Reece.

Olivia: NO

Baller Alert: Can you tell us something that happened that they did not show on Love & Hip Hop?

Olivia: Way too many things [happened] that they didn’t show to just pin point one.

Baller Alert: You’ve been quoted as not dating hip hop stars and being on a strict “No Rapper Diet”, after hanging with the cast of “Love & Hip Hop” have you decided to give rappers a try?

Olivia:  No, i haven’t. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of cute rappers out there but thats just not my preference.

Baller Alert: What have you been up to during your short time away from the music scene?

Olivia: I have been rebranding myself from Gunit. [I’ve been] doing shows and working on lots of new music.

Baller Alert: You have been given two chances by Clive Davis and G-Unit in the music business. What are you going to do differently the third time around to be successful?

Olivia: I was 18 when i signed my first deal to J records..I just wanted to sing. Then signed to Interscope/Gunit…I just wanted to fit in. Now i understand the business and know who i am as an artist. That is what’s going to make me successful

Baller Alert: Do you still have a relationship/friendship with the members of G Unit and will they be playing a part in your new “Show The World” project?

Olivia: Yes, i still have a relationship with the members of Gunit but like i said i am trying to rebrand from that so no, they will not be making an appearance on the album.

Baller Alert: Do you think “Love & Hip Hop” has given you the platform to promote your brand?

Olivia: Yes! “Love & Hip Hop” has given me a voice to showcase myself. Whether they hype up certain things or down play others, they have definitely given me a platform and i’m thankful for that.

Baller Alert: Do you have any groupies? Tell us a groupie tale.

Olivia: [laughs] I wouldn’t call them groupies but yes, sure I have some adoring fans and thats all i have to say about that.

Baller Alert: We watched you, Jim Jones, & Chrissy on ustream. It was hilarious but why did you guys leave so quickly?

Olivia: The Ustream with me and Chrissy and Jim Jones was hilarious! Man, I just love Jimmy. The room was just flooded with so many questions. Jim told us “We ain’t have to answer to anybody cause we know the truth” then told everyone to buy his album and “F” the haters! So me and Chrissy said “well i guess we’re done here people..bye!”  [laughs] PRICELESS!

Before ending the interview Olivia had a few words for her devoted fans, “I love all the true supporters who have been riding with me since”Bizounce”. This is why i do this and continue to push harder. I believe in me and do it for my fans that have always as well.” Although it’s been several years, Olivia doesn’t want you to count her out just yet, “I know my hard work is never in vain. Nobody is an over night success period!”. Keep an eye out for Olivia’s new album, “Show The World” September 2011. For now you can check out the video for her new single “December” which you may have heard a little of during this week’s episode of “Love & Hip Hop”.
