Tristan ‘Mack’ Wilds Talks Role in Upcoming Apple TV Series “Swagger” (Video)

Tristan’ Mack’ Wilds is a man of many talents, from his role on the reprised 90210 and producing music to performing on Broadway and, of course — being a family man.  Baller Alert’s Angie B caught up with Wilds at the premiere of Apple TV’s upcoming series “Swagger,” which Wilds stars in.

Executive produced by Kevin Durant and inspired by his experiences, “Swagger” explores the world of youth basketball, the players, their families, and coaches who walk the fine line between dreams and ambition, and opportunism and corruption.

Wilds talked to Baller Alert about his role as Alonzo Powers, the grassroots division leader at a major shoe company in the Apple TV+ series. “The sneaker corporation will play a very pinnacle role in the show. The corporation will pick the kids who are going to make it to the league,” said Wilds. “Alonzo is one of the CEOs of these companies and you’re going to see him walk a fine line between what’s good and — what’s not so good.”

Wilds explains that “Swagger” gives a “microscopic idea” of what’s going on in the lives of kids coming from rural places who become huge stars and experience places they’ve never seen before. He also talked about balancing life as a father, husband, actor, and producer. “I have an amazing wife and an amazing team,” said Wilds. “We’re always all hands on deck with each other. That’s the only way we make it happen.”

The leading kids of the series also join Baller Alert on the carpet and talk about the importance of a story like “Swagger” and why it needs to be told.

“Swagger” will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on October 29, 2021. The 10-episode first season will premiere with the first three episodes, followed by one new episode weekly every Friday thereafter through December 17, 2021.
