Authorities say 37-year-old Sean Charles Dunn was arrested and charged with a felony after allegedly throwing a sandwich at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer. The incident took place on Sunday, just days after Donald Trump ordered an increase in federal law enforcement presence in certain cities.
According to police reports, Dunn approached a group of CBP agents and began shouting at them, questioning their presence in his city. Witnesses claim he pointed at the officers, labeled them “fascists,” and then tossed what appeared to be a sub sandwich directly at one agent.
Bystanders caught the moment on camera, and the footage reportedly shows the sandwich flying toward the officer before hitting the ground. While no one was injured, prosecutors are treating the act as an assault on a federal officer, a serious offense that carries potential prison time.
