A couple’s romantic dream vacation took a devastating turn after a man drowned while proposing to his girlfriend.
Kenesha Antoine, the girlfriend, announced the devastating news on Facebook that her boyfriend, Steven Weber Jr., drowned while asking her to marry him in an underwater proposal gone wrong.
The exact circumstances of Weber’s death are still unclear. The couple were on a “bucket list” vacation in Tanzania when Weber was swimming underwater with a note in a plastic bag.
According to Antoine’s Facebook post, the note read, “I can’t hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you, but everything I love about you, I love more every day.”
On the other side of the note, Weber asked Antoine to marry him and pulls out a ring in a box.
In the video, she says, “Yes,” and Weber swims out of the frame but never emerged from the water.
“You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my answer. ‘Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!’” Antoine wrote.
