A well-known anti-masker attempted to zip tie a school principal after the school asked a student exposed to COVID-19 to stay home.
The shocking incident occurred on Thursday when Tucson, Arizona coffee shop owner Kelly Walker rallied up a group of people to visit Mesquite Elementary School to confront school officials about having a child quarantine who came in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19. Walker’s children do not attend the school, but he is close with the parent of the quarantined child.

Once at the school, Walker recorded himself, the father of the child ordered to quarantine, and another man holding zip ties walking around the building. At one point, Walker held the zip ties up to the camera and declares that he will be making citizen arrests if the police do not take action against school officials.
When the group entered the school, they spoke with the school’s principal, Diane Vargo, inside of her office. Walker falsely claimed to be a scientist who has “wrote about COVID for doctors and dentists all over the country.” After listening to the group spew misinformation, Vargo asks them to leave the premises, which they refused. The principal eventually called the Tucson Police Department, who arrived after the group fled the scene.
The Vail Unified School District informed parents of the incident in a note and has not decided if they will press charges against the group. Principal Vargo was not hurt during the incident.
