Mark Curry Says He Was Racially Profiled While Staying At A Wyndham Hotel In Colorado Springs [Video]

Comedian Mark Curry went on Instagram to blast a Wyndham hotel that he says racially profiled him.

The actor, who was in Colorado Springs for a comedy show, posted a video clip of the incident ,which shows him in the lobby of the hotel Mining Exchange. While sitting down having a cup of coffee, he says in the recording that he was approached by two employees out of nowhere, with one asking if he is a guest of the hotel.

Mark, who was infamously known as Mr. Cooper back in the day, starts to question why he, of all people, is being asked if he’s a guest. He then claims it’s because he’s Black. From there, he accuses the two male employees of harassing him.

He notes that the other guests in the lobby weren’t asked the same thing.

The employees never really answered him, but seem to just stand there and stare him down as he continues to go live on IG.

Mark at some point gets up and goes to the bathroom and is asked for his ID by a front desk attendant.

Eventually, he makes his way back to his suite and vents about the encounter, saying you can’t be Black in America without an interrogation. He also posted the hotel’s phone number and told people to call the hotel about the incident.

The hotel has since apologized and said they contacted Mark to compensate his stay and offered him a free stay in the future. As for their employees, the hotel says it will retrain them to prevent incidents like this in the future and make it a hotel inclusive to all.
