A celebrity hairstylist has been forced to air out Masika Kalysha online, and he spoke exclusively with Baller Alert to share the details.
The drama began on Monday, when Masika shared a photoshoot from her husband’s funeral. The images garnered a lot of chatter online, with many calling her actions performative. In the midst of this, hairstylist Ully the Stylist made one of the images into a meme, writing, “This how I felt when you ain’t send my money.”

Breaking down the situation to Baller Alert, Ully explained that he swooped in to save the day when the influencer needed her hair done to attend the homegoing ceremony for Jamar Champ, who tragically died in a car accident in late October. According to screenshots provided by Ully, the two had a working relationship that dated back to at least 2023. Masika reached out on November 4, sending the broken heart emoji before adding, “I need you.” Ully followed up by letting her know that he texted her. From there, Ully says he did her hair “three days in a row.”

After the third day of servicing Masika, Ully says he reached out to her assistant for payment and was met with immediate silence.
“Basically, I kept writing her, asking her, and she ended up blocking me. They stopped responding,” he explained in a statement.

In follow-up text messages to Masika, Ully pleaded for the payment, sending multiple messages to no avail. In one text, he questioned why a braider, who also serviced the model, was compensated but not him. Ully then sent an Apple Cash request for $350 in hopes that the matter would be rectified in minutes. Unfortunately, his messages went unanswered. In one correspondence, which was sent on Tuesday, Ully called out the unprofessionalism.

“I know you dealing with a lot but of respect, I got up at 6am to service you with no issues… I don’t think it’s fair I have to wait on my funds. You called me, I came to you with no problems,” he wrote.

As of now, Masika has not responded publicly to Ully, though it’s likely she will in the coming days.
